Five Convicted for Assaulting Kade SHTS Tutor, Remanded Pending Sentencing

The Ghana Police Service, Eastern South Region, has confirmed the conviction and remand of five individuals in connection with the assault of a tutor at Kade Senior High Technical School (SHTS).

The accused, Felix Nana Danquah, Isaac Okui (alias Dubai), Edward Baah (alias Missed Call), Maxwell Kwasi Antwi (alias Ozil), and Richmond Yeboah (alias Star Boy), were arraigned before the Kade District Court on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service, the suspects were arrested from various hideouts and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and assault.

All five pleaded guilty to the charges and were convicted based on their own pleas.

Despite the conviction, the court deferred sentencing and remanded the accused persons into prison custody.

They are scheduled to reappear in court on January 20, 2026, for sentencing.

The police have used the occasion to caution the public—particularly the youth—against engaging in violent acts, whether deliberately or under influence, noting that such actions constitute criminal offenses.

DSP David Fianko-Okyere, Head of Public Affairs for the Eastern South Region, reiterated the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to protecting life and property, and encouraged the public to support law enforcement efforts to maintain peace and order.
