Ghana Armed Forces WO II Officer has been arrested in alleged arms trafficking operation in Bekwai.

A Warrant Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, WO II David Kofi Brew, has been arrested in connection with an alleged arms trafficking operation.

The officer, who is attached to the 4th Infantry Battalion in the Ashanti Region, was apprehended during a covert operation conducted by security operatives.

According to reliable sources, the arrest took place at the Bekwai Shell Filling Station, where WO II Brew was allegedly attempting to sell weapons valued at GH¢80,000.

Investigators, posing as potential buyers, carried out the sting operation that led to his arrest.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the officer was engaged in the unauthorized sale of military-grade firearms.

The arrest has sent shockwaves across the security community, raising concerns about the potential infiltration of illegal arms into civilian hands through rogue elements within the armed forces.

Authorities have since launched a full-scale investigation to uncover the extent of the alleged trafficking network and determine whether other military personnel may be involved.
