President John Dramani Mahama has firmly assured Ghanaians that the country will not seek another financial bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under his leadership.
Speaking at a recent engagement, the President emphasized his administration’s commitment to implementing sound economic policies aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability and promoting long-term growth without relying on external financial assistance.
According to President Mahama, the lessons learned from previous IMF support programs have informed better fiscal discipline and structural reforms that will help Ghana achieve self-reliance and economic resilience.

“We are focused on building a strong and independent economy,” he said. “Ghana will not return to the IMF for a bailout again. We are putting in place sustainable measures to ensure we manage our resources responsibly and grow our economy.”
His comments come amid public concern over Ghana’s rising debt levels and past IMF interventions.
The President’s assurance is expected to boost investor confidence and signal the government’s intention to avoid external dependence.
