The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that Ghanaian passport holders can now travel to 54 countries without the need for a visa.

This development marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s global mobility and international relations.

According to Hon. Ablakwa, the expansion of visa-free access is the result of improved bilateral and multilateral agreements between Ghana and various countries.

He credited Ghana’s diplomatic engagements and foreign policy efforts for the growing acceptance of Ghanaian passports across the world.

The 54 destinations include countries across Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and parts of Oceania. Some of these countries offer full visa-free access, while others permit visa-on-arrival or e-visa facilities, making international travel easier and more accessible for Ghanaian citizens.

Hon. Ablakwa urged Ghanaians to take full advantage of this opportunity while also encouraging responsible travel.

He further called on the government to continue engaging with more countries to expand the list, which will not only boost tourism and trade but also create broader global opportunities for Ghanaian professionals, students, and entrepreneurs.
