Social media has been flooded with reactions from users demanding accountability and stressing the need to protect individuals from the harmful effects of non-consensual content distribution.

Legal analysts note that under Ghanaian law, the non-consensual sharing of nude or sexually explicit material constitutes a criminal offence.

The Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), specifically criminalises the distribution of intimate images without the consent of the person involved. Offenders may face fines, imprisonment, or both, depending on the severity of the case.

Advocates have also raised concerns about the long-term reputational and psychological impact such incidents can have on victims.

They emphasize the importance of digital responsibility and respect for privacy, particularly among public figures with significant online influence.
