The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has officially launched an internal investigation into allegations of extortion leveled against some officers of the Customs Division Task Force operating in the Ashanti Region.
This action follows complaints raised by the Traders Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG), citing instances of unauthorized payments demanded by task force personnel.
According to the GRA’s press release dated Thursday, 27th November 2025, the alleged extortion occurred during the interception of containers en route to Kumasi.
