A Nigerian lady has ignited widespread discussion on social media after recounting an unsettling experience with a man she described as her “talking stage.”
According to her account, the man, who had previously gifted her a total of ₦57,000, (GH¢500) called one night and hinted he wanted to ask a sensitive question but feared it might come across as disrespectful.
He then asked how she would respond if he contacted her to request intimacy, arguing that he felt entitled to such access simply because he was a man and she was a woman.

The lady explained that she calmly challenged his reasoning, pointing out the flawed assumption behind his sense of entitlement.
She ended the call shortly after and blocked him, stating that his mindset was a clear red flag she could not ignore.
Her decision has since generated intense reactions online. Many social media users commended her for setting firm boundaries and refusing to normalize transactional expectations in relationships.
Others criticized the notion that financial gifts, especially during early stages of dating, grant access to someone’s body or personal space.
The incident has once again brought to the forefront critical conversations about consent, respect, and boundaries in modern dating.
It highlights the growing insistence, particularly among women, that emotional connection and mutual respect must not be replaced by entitlement masked as generosity.
