A lady identified as Bukola has shared a heartbreaking account of how she was allegedly defrauded of ₦50 million (Gh¢100,000) by a married man she met through an online dating platform.
According to her narration, the incident began in 2023 after family pressure pushed her to consider settling down.
She joined Tinder and met a man who introduced himself as Alex.
He presented himself as a businessman involved in building and construction, with plans to develop an event centre and a hotel.

Convinced by his confidence and detailed explanations, Bukola initially lent him ₦500,000 despite it being their first physical meeting.
As the relationship progressed, Alex reportedly introduced Bukola publicly as his wife, deepening her trust.
Over time, he continued to request larger sums—₦3 million, ₦4 million, and more—which she provided, believing she was supporting a future partner.
It was only after her funds were exhausted that she realised she had been deceived.
Bukola later discovered that “Alex” was actually Bankole Babalola, a married man with three children.
The woman he had introduced as his younger sister, Tony, was allegedly his legal wife, who also played along with the deception when confronted. Further revelations suggested that the man had been involved in similar scams dating as far back as 2012.
