‘I shouted For Help’, Zimbabwean Teacher tells Court during her trial.
A 33-year-old Zimbabwean woman, Zvikomborero Maria Makedenge, has been formally arraigned before the court following the circulation of explicit videos allegedly involving her and a 16-year-old male student.

The incident, which has sparked widespread public outrage and debate, is currently under legal review.
According to reports, the videos surfaced on social media, prompting law enforcement agencies to arrest and charge Makedenge.
During her court appearance, she reportedly claimed in her official statement that the minor, identified as Tinashe Chigumbu, allegedly initiated the incident.

She further claimed that she had shouted for help but received no assistance.
Contrary to her account, the minor has reportedly accused Makedenge of locking the door, coercing him into the act, and promising him opportunities abroad if he remained silent.
The case has drawn significant public and media attention, raising concerns over child protection, abuse of authority, and the psychological impact on minors involved in such incidents.
Authorities have assured the public that due legal process will be followed and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean Ministry of Education and relevant child protection agencies are expected to comment further as the matter unfolds in court.
