New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has issued a strong warning against any attempts to intimidate delegates and disrupt the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament declared that he would respond “boot for boot” to any form of violence or coercion aimed at undermining the electoral process.
Speaking during a campaign engagement, Mr. Agyapong alleged that one of his opponents is planning to deploy a group of 50 muscular men—often referred to as “macho men”—across various constituencies to intimidate his supporters and interfere with the free will of delegates.

“This is a democratic process. If anyone thinks they can use thugs to scare people into submission, I will respond accordingly. I am not afraid, and I will meet them boot for boot,” he said firmly.
The businessman-turned-politician emphasized that such tactics threaten the unity and credibility of the NPP, urging party leadership to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.
Mr. Agyapong, known for his outspoken nature and firm stance on internal party issues, reiterated his commitment to peace but warned that any act of aggression or intimidation will be met with equal resistance.
His comments have sparked reactions from both party members and the public, with some calling for calm and dialogue, while others have echoed concerns about the potential for unrest during the primaries.
