A young Nigerian lady has gone viral on social media after revealing she intentionally chose not to attend her own wedding, a decision that has left both her fiancé and family in shock.
According to the lady, whose name has not been disclosed, the man she was set to marry had previously ended their relationship but later returned, seeking reconciliation.
Despite his renewed interest, she made it clear that she no longer wished to continue the relationship.
However, her family insisted she proceed with the marriage, citing societal pressure and expectations.

“They said I must bring a husband home,” she explained in the viral video. “Since they are the ones looking for a husband, and the guy is looking for a wife, I told them no problem.”
Following her family’s insistence, a traditional introduction ceremony was held.
But when the wedding day arrived, she made a bold and controversial decision—she left town and fled to Kaduna, far from where the wedding was to take place in Lagos.
“In case you are looking for a groom, I can give you the location,” she joked, adding, “My family no vex, I don bring husband, make una carry wife give am.”
Her video has stirred mixed reactions online, with some praising her courage to stand up for herself, while others expressed concern over the emotional impact on the groom and the embarrassment to both families.
