The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Hon. Mahama Naser Toure, was laid to rest today in accordance with Islamic traditions, following his sudden demise.
His burial took place on Monday, January 5, 2026, marking a solemn moment for constituents, political colleagues, and the nation at large.
The funeral rites commenced with a Janazah (Islamic funeral) prayer at 10:00 a.m. at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), located along the Kanda Highway.

The prayer was led by Ghana’s National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and drew a large gathering of mourners including family members, fellow MPs, party executives, and residents of the constituency.
The atmosphere was one of deep sorrow as mourners paid their last respects to the late MP, who was widely regarded as a humble and dedicated public servant.
Many spoke of his commitment to the development of Ayawaso East and his efforts to improve the lives of his constituents.
Hon. Toure, a long-serving member of the NDC, served multiple terms in Parliament and was instrumental in advocating for education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development within his constituency.
The NDC flag was flown at half-mast at the constituency office as a mark of respect, and tributes poured in from party leaders, parliamentary colleagues, and community members.
Hon. Mahama Naser Toure is survived by his wife, children, and extended family.
