The family of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a formal press release to address recent public concerns and clarify ongoing misrepresentations related to the funeral arrangements and internal family matters.

Dated December 6, 2025, the press release was issued by the direct family of the late highlife legend.

The family reaffirmed that Evangelist Papa Shee, known in private life as Nana Yaw Akosuah, is a long-time family confidant and has been designated as the official spokesperson for the Fosuh family during this mourning period.

The family strongly refuted claims questioning Papa Shee’s authority or relationship with them, describing such suggestions as “false, unfounded, and must be put to rest.”

They emphasized that he is deeply integrated within the Fosuh family structure and is well-informed about their internal affairs.

Furthermore, the release addressed recent comments made by Mr. Kofi Owusu during an appearance on UTV’s entertainment program. Mr. Owusu allegedly dismissed a valid German Marriage Certificate belonging to Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh—widow of the late musician—as an “Ashtown document.”

The family described his remarks as “pathetic and uninformed,” expressing disappointment over what they termed as a public display of disrespect and personal bias against Mrs. Fosuh.

They further condemned the program’s host for failing to immediately correct the misinformation, instead responding with smiles.

The family concluded by addressing a funeral poster in circulation that featured Mrs. Fosuh’s name alongside another individual, strongly implying that it was misleading and did not represent the family’s official position.

The statement reinforces the family’s call for dignity, truth, and unity during this sensitive period, while demanding respect for the memory of the late Daddy Lumba and his lawful family.

Key points from the letter:

– The use of the term “widow” was published without consent and doesn’t reflect the family’s stance.

– Some Fosuh family members’ names were added to a poster for “cosmetic purposes” and should be ignored.

– The family respects the court but disagrees with parts of the decision and will seek legal redress.

– They affirm the legitimacy and credibility of the German marriage certificate.

– They encourage those distressed by the ruling to remain hopeful, assuring that truth and justice will prevail.

– The family remains united in preserving the legacy of Charles Kwadwo Fosuh with integrity and truth.

It is signed by the family through their press secretary.
