A man in a rural community in Ghana has reportedly dismantled the roof of a house he helped construct for his former girlfriend’s family following the couple’s breakup.
According to accounts circulating online, the incident occurred after the woman allegedly ended the relationship following a minor disagreement.
Sources claim that the man, who had previously financed and installed roofing sheets for the family home, returned to the property shortly after the separation and removed the roofing materials he had provided.
Eyewitnesses in the village said the development left residents shocked, as the structure was partially exposed after the roofing sheets were taken down.
While some community members criticized the man’s actions as excessive and retaliatory, others argued that he may have felt entitled to retrieve materials he personally purchased.
The matter has since sparked debate on social media, with users divided over issues of ownership, emotional reactions after breakups, and the legal implications of reclaiming property given as support during a relationship.

Legal experts note that such disputes often depend on whether the materials were considered a gift or a recoverable personal investment.
Local authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
