A distressed Ghanaian man, Richard Mintah, has made a heartbreaking public appeal during a live broadcast on Oyerepa Afutuo with Auntie Naa, where he shared the emotional toll of what he described as repeated humiliation and betrayal by his wife, his family, and a church elder.

Speaking on the Kumasi-based station, Richard revealed that he is contemplating suicide due to the unbearable psychological trauma he has endured.

His voice laden with pain, Richard recounted how a Church of Pentecost elder, known only as “Dad Joe”, allegedly took advantage of their situation and became romantically involved with his wife, Debora Asantewaa.

According to Richard, the elder, who resides in their neighborhood in Buokrom South Africa, Kumasi Metropolis, initially assisted the couple by helping them secure an apartment.

However, he claims that this act of kindness turned into betrayal when the elder reportedly started a secret affair with Debora.

Richard further alleged that the situation deteriorated after the birth of their child, as the relationship between his wife and the church elder became more evident and deeply hurtful.

The emotional weight of the betrayal, coupled with the silence and complicity of those he trusted, has reportedly pushed him to the edge.

His live revelation has sparked widespread public concern and conversations about emotional abuse, betrayal within trusted institutions, and the need for mental health support systems for men facing domestic crises.

Listeners and viewers of the show have called for psychological intervention and pastoral accountability, while others have encouraged Richard to seek professional counseling and not give in to thoughts of self-harm.
