NAIMOS Task Force Rejects Gh100,000 Bribe From Alleged Galamsey Kingpin at Ayensuano District

NAIMOS Task Force, the anti-illegal mining operation team through its operation in fighting Galamsey went to the site mainly with the intention and mandate of protecting the Ayensu River after unknown people were seen involved in illegal mining popularly known as Galamsey.

The NAIMOS, through thorough investigation, has raided a Galamsey site and arrested a Galamsey kingpin destroying the Ayensu River at Bisiasi and its surrounding communities in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, causing a severe health issues to the people living in the district.


The man allegedly known to be the owner of the site upon hearing the NAIMOS’s operation decided to do the unlawful to secure the site.

The Kingpin, whose name and identity is withheld for some reasons, came to the site with a pistol and amount of Gh100,000 to bribe the NAIMOS Task Force officers, but unfortunately for him, they insisted his arrest; seize the pistol and the money, and closed down the site.

The officers involved in the operation refused to take the bribe from the alleged Kingpin and immediately shutdown the site. The equipment such as the excavators and others were seized following the operation.

The NAIMOS’s officers addressed the situation calling the officers involved in the operation as true patriotism after refusing to take the money.

The NAIMOS operation team has affirm it’s dedication in fighting Galamsey which is now the national issue destroying not just our lands but water bodies, leading to serious health issues in the country.
The alleged Kingpin is currently in the police custody assisting the police in their investigation.
