“Never Marry a Man Who Has His Assets Under His Mother’s Name,” Lady Shares Experience

A lady has sparked intense online debate after warning women to

be cautious about marrying men who keep their major assets under their mother’s name rather than their own.

According to her, such arrangements may signal that a man has already planned for divorce before entering marriage.

She argued that while a partner may appear wealthy—driving expensive cars, owning property, and living a flamboyant lifestyle—those assets may not legally belong to him, leaving a spouse vulnerable in the event of marital breakdown.

She cautioned women against assuming that marriage automatically guarantees shared ownership of property, especially where assets are registered in a third party’s name.

In her view, this strategy is often designed to prevent courts from awarding a spouse a share of property during divorce proceedings, potentially leaving women financially disadvantaged.

The woman further advised that women should conduct proper background checks before marriage and avoid rushing into unions based solely on material comfort.

She also stressed that traditional marriages alone may not offer sufficient legal protection if disputes arise.

Her remarks have generated mixed reactions online. While some users agreed, describing the warning as realistic and necessary, others criticized it as overly cynical and unfair to men who manage assets for family or cultural reasons.
