A group of Ghanaian youth have staged a peaceful demonstration to express growing concerns over the conduct of some Nigerian individuals living and operating in Ghana, while reaffirming their commitment to peace, coexistence, and regional unity.

The demonstration, which took place under tight discipline and without any reported incidents, was aimed at drawing the attention of authorities and the general public to behaviors the protesters described as provocative and disruptive.

The youth emphasized that their action was not directed against Nigerians as a people, but against specific actions they believe undermine social harmony and mutual respect.

Addressing the media, leaders of the group stressed the long-standing historical, cultural, and economic ties between Ghana and Nigeria, noting that both nations have benefited immensely from peaceful coexistence and regional cooperation.

They warned that isolated acts of misconduct, if left unchecked, could strain relations and fuel unnecessary tension between the two communities.

The protesters called on Nigerian residents in Ghana to respect local laws, customs, and social norms, while urging Ghanaian citizens to avoid generalizations, hate speech, or acts of retaliation.

According to the organizers, dialogue and lawful engagement remain the most effective tools for resolving grievances.

They also appealed to government authorities, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen mediation mechanisms, enforce existing regulations fairly, and promote intercultural understanding to prevent future conflicts.

Throughout the demonstration, participants carried placards with messages advocating peace, unity, and respect, reinforcing their stated objective of maintaining calm and order.

The group concluded by reiterating their commitment to non-violence and urging all parties to act responsibly in the interest of national stability and regional solidarity.
