The Koforidua New Juabeng South District Police Command has arrested thirteen suspected prostitutes, including twelve Nigerian nationals, in a coordinated operation targeting alleged human trafficking and related offences.
According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended during a raid at a premises believed to be operating as a brothel within the municipality.
A landlord and a bouncer linked to the facility were also arrested for their alleged roles in facilitating the activities.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects may be connected to offences including human trafficking, assault, operating a brothel, permitting a minor to engage in prostitution, and trading in prostitution.
Authorities say the operation followed intelligence gathered on suspicious activities at the location.
Police have indicated that one of the key concerns under investigation is the alleged involvement of a minor, which could attract more severe charges under Ghana’s criminal laws.
All suspects are currently in custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are underway to identify potential victims and determine the full scope of the alleged network.

The Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to combating human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals, urging the public to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
