Police Arrest 33 Suspects in Major Anti-Crime Operation Ahead of Festive Season
The Central East Regional Police Command has successfully conducted a series of intelligence-led swoop operations in key areas within the region as part of efforts to clamp down on criminal activity during the festive season.

The operations, which took place in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025, targeted crime-prone zones including the Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduatta, and Senya Breku and surrounding communities.
The anti-crime swoops led to the arrest of 33 suspects, many of whom were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and tramadol.

Additionally, 45 motorbikes were impounded during the operation, and one locally manufactured gun was retrieved.
Verification and documentation checks are ongoing to ascertain the legitimacy of the seized motorcycles.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing screening, and those found culpable will be arraigned before court to face justice.
The Police Command, led by DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, has urged the public to remain vigilant and adhere to safety precautions, especially during the festive season. Key recommendations include:
– Avoid carrying large sums of money;
– Move in groups, especially at night;
– Wear crash helmets when riding motorbikes;
– Refrain from drunk-driving and obey road safety regulations;
– Avoid walking alone in secluded areas.
The Command expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their continued cooperation in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.
It also commended officers across the region for their dedication to effective policing.
