A 23-year-old student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, has been arrested by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly publishing obscene material online.
According to the police, the suspect is accused of sharing explicit and intimate videos involving multiple women on his Snapchat account.
Investigators say the recordings span a period from 2023 to January 2026 and were allegedly posted publicly on the social media platform.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect reportedly admitted to posting the content as part of what he described as a growing social media trend aimed at gaining attention and engagement online.
Authorities further disclosed that Hayford allegedly confessed to selling one of the videos to a woman based in the United States for $600.
The Ghana Police Service indicated that the case forms part of ongoing efforts by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team to combat the circulation of explicit content and other forms of cyber-related offenses across social media platforms.
Law enforcement officials have reiterated the importance of responsible online behavior, warning that individuals who publish or distribute explicit materials without proper consent could face serious legal consequences under Ghana’s laws.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently assisting police with investigations, and authorities say he is expected to be processed through the legal system as inquiries continue.
