The Ghana Police Service, through the Western Central Regional Police Command, has arrested two men in Tarkwa for the unlawful possession and suspected peddling of narcotic drugs.
The suspects, Maclean Adaboro, aged 44, and Kelvin Anaam, aged 28, were arrested following intelligence-led operations conducted on February 5, 2026.
Acting on credible information, police officers searched the suspects’ shop located on Estate Road as well as a room near the Tarkwa Market Circle.

During the operation, officers retrieved significant quantities of suspected narcotic substances, including 22 compressed parcels and 44 sachets of dried cannabis leaves, some locally referred to as “arms.”
The search also uncovered large quantities of controlled pharmaceutical drugs, including 24 boxes of 250mg Royal Tramadol, 15 boxes of Tima King Tramadol, and 43 pieces of 250mg Tapentadol.
In addition, an amount of GH₵2,001 in cash was recovered, which police believe to be proceeds from the sale of illicit drugs.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
