Police Arrests Man Who Allegedly Assaulted His His Wife In Viral Video

The Ghana Police through its Criminal Department has apprehended a man who was seen in a viral video allegedly assaulting his wife in his residence at Ofankor in the Ga East Municipality.

The suspect identified as John Dartey Lamptey was arrested on Monday, 17th November, 2025 at the family residence.

Following his arrest, two of his siblings, Grace Kushie Lamptey and Louis Odartey Lamptey, who attempted to attack a female tenant they suspected of recording and circulating the video, were also arrested and the tenant was rescued to ensure her safety.

The police service assured the public on the effort been made to ensure the safety of the wife who fled the scene before the police arrived.

The Ghana Police Service pledges to remain committed to protect victims of the domestic violence and ensuring that perpetrators face full rigour of the law.
