A police officer was reportedly knocked down by a Toyota Corolla while directing traffic at the scene of an earlier accident at Patasi in Kumasi.
According to preliminary information, the officer had been deployed to manage vehicular movement and ensure public safety following a separate crash in the area.
During the process, the Toyota Corolla allegedly veered into the officer, causing injuries. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the driver may have been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. However, authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming whether intoxication played a role.
Emergency responders were said to have rushed the injured officer to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The officer’s current condition has not been formally disclosed.
The incident has raised renewed concerns about road safety and the risks faced by law enforcement personnel while performing traffic duties.
