The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspected drug traffickers at Alajo in Accra, following an intelligence-led operation that led to the discovery of quantities of tramadol in their possession.
According to police sources, the suspects were intercepted during a routine operation when officers detected suspicious behavior and conducted a lawful search.
The search uncovered the controlled substance, which is commonly abused and linked to rising cases of substance-related crime across the country.
In a further demonstration of professionalism and integrity, the suspects allegedly attempted to bribe the arresting officers with GH₵10,000 in an effort to evade arrest.
The officers firmly rejected the offer and proceeded with the arrest in line with standard operating procedures.
The suspects have since been handed over to the National CID for further investigations and possible prosecution.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to fighting drug-related crimes and maintaining ethical standards, while urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing credible information to help curb illicit drug activities.
