Police Recover Stolen Vehicle and Exhibits in Residential Robbery Case

The Ghana Police Service has recovered a stolen vehicle and other items following an intelligence-led operation linked to a residential robbery incident.

According to a press release issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 11th February 2026, the robbery occurred on 4th December 2025 when armed men attacked a woman in her residence and made away with her Toyota Hilux pick-up, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and other personal belongings.

Through sustained intelligence gathering, police identified a suspect as Clement Kofi Aidoo, also known as Joseph Abequaye, Yaw, and Paddy. Officers subsequently tracked him down in connection with the case.

During the operation, the suspect allegedly attempted to attack the officers and was shot and injured in the process.

He was rushed to the Police Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead while receiving medical care.

Police retrieved the stolen Toyota Hilux, the complainant’s mobile phone, and several documents from the suspect.

Further investigations revealed that in November 2025, the same suspect allegedly absconded with a Toyota Camry belonging to a police officer who had engaged him through a recruitment agency to care for his ailing father.

The vehicle was later recovered in the Central Region after being abandoned during a police pursuit.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
