The Ghana Police Service has arrested a well-known fraud suspect accused of impersonating a national security officer to defraud members of the public.
According to police sources, the suspect allegedly used forged credentials and intimidation tactics to gain the trust of victims.
He is said to have scammed several individuals through fake vehicle sale deals, demanding large sums of money under the guise of facilitating legitimate car transactions.

In some cases, victims were reportedly threatened to prevent them from questioning the authenticity of the deals.
Preliminary investigations have revealed disturbing developments, including indications that some police officers may be connected to the criminal network.
Authorities say this aspect of the case is being treated with utmost seriousness, as it raises concerns about possible corruption and abuse of office within the security services.
The Police Service has assured the public that a thorough and impartial investigation is underway to identify all accomplices, regardless of rank or affiliation.
Any officers found to have aided or protected the suspect will face disciplinary and criminal sanctions in accordance with the law.
The suspect remains in police custody and is assisting with investigations.
