The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested 27 suspects during a series of targeted operations across key towns including Salaga, Damongo, Buipe, and Bole.
The arrests were part of intensified security efforts ahead of the Christmas festivities to curb rising crime and ensure public safety.
The special operations, carried out between December 20 and 24, 2025, focused on criminal hideouts and intelligence-led raids in areas known for reported cases of robbery, drug peddling, and other unlawful activities.

Among the arrested individuals are suspects believed to be connected to recent incidents of theft, armed robbery, and narcotics-related offenses. During the swoops, security personnel recovered quantities of suspected illicit drugs, mobile phones, weapons, and other items believed to be stolen.
In a statement, the Regional Police Command noted that the exercise forms part of its broader strategy to maintain peace and security during the holiday season and beyond.
The suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigation.

The police have assured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities and providing credible information to aid ongoing security operations.
