A man popularly described as the shortest man in Kasoa has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for stealing bags of cement, a crime he admits committing repeatedly before his arrest.
Speaking in an interview with the Crime Check Foundation, the convict expressed deep regret over his actions and disappointment in what he described as misplaced reliance on divine protection.
According to him, he stole and sold cement bags to a regular buyer at prices far below market value, sometimes as low as GH¢70 per bag.

He explained that he was caught in the act and chose to confess immediately, fearing mob assault if he denied the offense.
The convict revealed that he worked as a labourer and apprentice to a mason, whom he accused of consistently refusing to pay him for jobs completed.
He said the lack of income and frustration influenced his decision to engage in theft, though he admitted that it was wrong.
“I confessed publicly because I want others to learn from my mistake,” he stated. “Stealing is a criminal offense, and once the law catches up with you, the consequences are severe.”
Describing himself as a devout Muslim who observes daily prayers, he acknowledged the contradiction between his faith and actions.
He admitted praying for divine protection before stealing, a decision he now deeply regrets, especially after his arrest and conviction.
