The Sunyani Traditional Council, led by Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, has reached a landmark agreement with Chinese investor Lin Daoping for the establishment of a China Mall in Sunyani.
As part of the agreement, the Council has allocated a 1.41-acre parcel of land situated at Sunyani East Newtown specifically the site of the Center for National Culture (CNC) to Lin Daoping for a 20-year lease.

At the end of the lease period, the land is expected to revert to the Sunyani Stool unless a renewed agreement is reached.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II has urged all residents and stakeholders in Sunyani to support the initiative, highlighting its potential to drive economic transformation and accelerate modernization in the municipality.

All relevant parties have been officially notified about the agreement.
Furthermore, the Paramount Chief and the Nananom of the Sunyani Traditional Council revealed that a portion of the financial proceeds commonly referred to as “kola” from the agreement will be allocated to refurbishing the deteriorating Center for National Culture building and the Sunyani Children’s Park.
These upgrades aim to enhance social infrastructure and improve public spaces for the community.
