A truck transporting a container reportedly lost control and rammed into a roadside store at Asankare on the Accra–Kumasi highway in the early hours of the morning, around 5:00 a.m.
According to preliminary information, the heavy-duty vehicle veered off the main road before crashing into the structure, causing significant damage to the shop.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded, as the incident occurred at a time when the store was closed and pedestrian activity in the area was minimal.

The impact of the crash also affected public infrastructure.
An electric pole in the vicinity was damaged, leading to the disruption of street lighting in the area.
Relevant authorities have since been alerted, and steps are expected to be taken to restore the affected electrical installations and assess the extent of the damage.
While the exact cause of the accident has not yet been officially confirmed, road users and residents have expressed concerns about speeding, driver fatigue, and the condition of heavy vehicles operating along the busy Accra–Kumasi highway, which is known for frequent accidents.
