An unknown woman arrested for running illegal “Prison” in Her Home

A 54-year-old woman from South Africa has been arrested for allegedly operating an unauthorized detention facility within her private residence.

The woman, who also owns and runs a local beer bar, is accused of unlawfully detaining patrons in a makeshift “prison” she set up inside her home.

According to police reports, the woman had converted a section of her house into locked holding cells where she confined individuals she deemed unruly or problematic.

Most of her detainees were bar customers who either became violent after consuming alcohol or refused to settle their bills.

Authorities revealed that since December 2, 2025, at least 36 men have been detained by the woman.

Some were allegedly imprisoned for being verbally or physically abusive toward women while intoxicated, while others were held for failing to pay for drinks they consumed.

The arrest followed a tip-off from community members who grew suspicious after noticing frequent altercations and men being forcibly dragged into the premises.

Law enforcement has since shut down the illegal facility, and investigations are ongoing.

The woman is expected to face charges related to unlawful detention, assault, and operating an unlicensed facility.

Police have urged the public to report any similar cases and reminded citizens that only legally sanctioned bodies are authorized to enforce the law or detain individuals.
