A surrogacy arrangement between a Ghanaian woman and a couple based in Germany has reportedly taken a contentious turn following claims that the surrogate failed to hand over the baby after delivery.
According to accounts circulating online, the woman is alleged to have entered into a formal agreement with the couple to carry a pregnancy on their behalf in exchange for financial compensation reportedly amounting to GHS100,000.
The arrangement is also said to have included additional support such as rented accommodation, monthly allowances, and other welfare provisions during the pregnancy.

Reports claim that after delivering the baby at the 37 Military Hospital, the woman left with the child and has since been unreachable.
Attempts by the couple to contact her have reportedly been unsuccessful, with communication between the parties breaking down.
The matter has sparked debate over the regulation and enforcement of surrogacy agreements, particularly in cross-border arrangements.
Legal experts note that surrogacy laws vary by jurisdiction, and disputes often hinge on the enforceability of contracts and the rights of all parties involved, including the child.
As of now, there has been no official statement from authorities confirming the details of the case.
The situation underscores the legal and ethical complexities surrounding surrogacy agreements.
