Zimbabwean Teacher Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Assault of 16-Year-Old Boy in Glen View.

A 33-year-old Zimbabwean teacher, identified as Zvikomborero Maria Makedenge, has been arrested and arraigned before the court on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy in the Glen View suburb of Harare.

According to the State’s case, the incident occurred on August 2, 2025. Makedenge, who is said to be the girlfriend of a tenant residing at the complainant’s home, was reportedly present at the residence when the alleged incident took place.

Court documents allege that Makedenge followed the teenage complainant into his room, where she allegedly engaged in non-consensual and unprotected sexual intercourse with him.

The act, if proven, constitutes a serious violation of Zimbabwean laws concerning the protection of minors.

The matter is currently under investigation, and authorities have indicated that due legal processes will be followed to ensure justice is served.

This case has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many calling for increased protection of minors and thorough prosecution of all forms of abuse, regardless of the gender of the perpetrator.
