Kumasi Kejetia: Fire Destroys Wholesale Shop in Kejetia Dubai
According to news reported by Adomonline, a devastating fire has hit Kejetia Dubai, a wholesale shop that sells matches and other disposable items.
The incident which was reported around 8:30am during which other stores were preparing to open to customers caused fear and panic.
Firefighters in the Dubai market rushed to the scene to bring the fire under control. According to the Ghana Fire Service, the fire was brought under control but unfortunately, half of the wholesale worth thousands of cedis were destroyed.
Their intervention prevented the fire from spreading to the shops in the trading area.
The victim whose shop ghast the fire was identified as Alice Gyamfi narrated how the incident happened to AdomFM. According to her, she opened the shop as usual for customers but later found out there was smoke in the shop.
She later called people around her to help to quench it but couldn’t and later called the fire service department to the scene.
“I have lost all my properties. This is the only property I have to sponsor my children’s school”, she said.
Madam Gyamfi appeals to the government and all stakeholders to support her in this difficult time.
