President Mahama Promises to Maintain the Inflation Rate at a Single Digit
President Mahama on April 19, 2026 speaking during citizen involvement at the University for Development Studies has pledged to maintain single-digit inflation rate despite a decline by 4%.
In the president’s address, he mentioned the inflation rate inherited by his government from his predecessor was 24% and through his economic policy has dropped significantly below 4%.
It is a broader perspective of ensuring economic stability within the country.

He stated that, the incumbent has managed the petrol prices to cushion our economy and maintain the inflation at below 4% and stabilize the economic to enhance trading in the country.

The president says maintaining economic stability is a top priority of the government and promises to stabilize the single-digit and maintain households from risk.
