A 38-year-old woman, Sarah Wilson known in her community as Maame Esi is alleged to have posed as the late Police Commander and received an amount of GHS 4,000 from the late commander’s family.
According to the report, the accused first demanded GHS 2,000 from the family for the funeral arrangement and death preparation, and later collected extra GHS 2,000 for the final procedures for the deceased.
From the report, she impersonated the late officer using a phone’s ‘magic voice’ pretending to be the late officer.

The police launched an investigation into the incident and later arrested the accused following a complaint made by the family members.
The case is currently in police custody and the suspect is assisting the police in their investigation.
