The Chairman of the Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into police custody by the Accra High Court for failing to comply with the court’s directive.
This follows Abronye’s application seeking variation of the bail conditions imposed on him which was dismissed by the Criminal Division of the High Court.
Abronye DC failed to adhere to the court’s directive to submit his passport to the High Court registrar’s office.

Due to the failed adherence, the court revoked the earlier granted bail and ordered that he should be remanded in custody before he complies with the directive.
The court gave the ruling in the absence of Abronye DC.
The Bono Regional Chairman, Abronye DC is facing the charge of false publication brought before the court by the State.
Last month Abronye DC was granted bail with conditions and one of the conditions is for him to surrender his passport and all traveling documents before the court.
He met all the bail conditions but failed to surrender his passport after he filed an application to dismiss the conditions imposed on him.
