Ghana Summons South Africa Envoy Over Xenophobic Attack
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa has summoned the Acting High Commissioner of South Africa Mr. Thando Dalamba over recent xenophobic attacks on Ghanaians living in South Africa.
The summons aimed to formally convey the anxieties of intimidation and harassment of foreign nationals in South Africa including Ghanaians.
In the press statement, the Minister made reference to KwaZulu-Natal Province where an individual was confronted with providing his legal documents.

It states that such an act undermines the integrity of the Ghanaians.
It was then stated that the act had escalated tensions making Ghanaians stay indoors even though no fatalities had been recorded.

The Minister stated that, harassment of law-abiding individuals is against African solidarity and such an act should be condemned across African countries.
The South African High Commissioner to Ghana admitted the summons and added that, the South African government is taking the essential steps to solve the attacks.
