Sam George Attacks AIDS Commission for Providing Lubricants to Gays

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram who doubles as the Minister of Communication and Innovation under the Mahama-led administration, Hon. Sam George Nartey has launched a criticism on the AIDS Commission for providing lubricants to men who engage in anal sex.

Speaking on the deliberation on the Human Rights and Family Values Bill in parliament on Thursday, 23rd April, 2026 expresses his dissatisfaction over the commission for releasing lubricants to men which were meant to reduce AIDS among people living with HIV.

He further stated that there is evidence on the Commission’s officers who are providing lubricants to pro LGBTQ to have ‘anal sex’.

“The lubricants are meant for people with HIV so they don’t spread it and they are giving them lubricants. That in itself is an activity to continue perpetuating anal sex between men”, he said.

Hon. Sam George calls for a public fund to be redirected to maternal health care and aims to provide the necessary support.

This comes during broader deliberations on the Rights and Family Values Bill at the country’s parliament on 23rd April, 2026.
