Accra Regional Minister Apologies Over Posting to Northern Region Remarks

Accra Regional Minister Apologies Over Posting to Northern Region Remarks. 

The Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo has officially apologised to the general public over her postings to the Northern region which she described as punishment in a viral video. 

According to her statement released in addressing the issue, she considered the remarks as a complete slip of tongue and sought an apology for her action.

“I wish to state,  without reservation, that the comments captured in the video were a genuine slip of communication and do not reflect my considered views nor do they represent the established policies and procedures governing staff postings within the public service. For clarity, I was responding to a media question regarding concerns that technocrats are alleged to have engaged in the issuance of development permits without due process, which are sometimes posted to districts within proximity thereby allowing such practices to persist”, she writes.

She added that individuals posted to some areas in the country later feel regretted but she says she feels regretful for her choice of words and finds it necessary to apologize.

“I deeply value the trust reposed in me and remain dedicated to serving the people of the Greater Accra with integrity, fairness, and accountability”, she added
