Samuel George not involved in financial misconduct — Communications ministry responds

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation has responded to the social media claim of the Minister, Hon. Sam George Nartey of receiving what is termed ‘blown’ public funds.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the viral document circulating online is an extract from a broader financial document for official authorization.

“The document in circulation is an extract from a broader official submission seeking commitment authorisation from the Ministry of Finance, in line with established public financial management and procurement procedures, and based on budgetary allocations duly approved by Parliament for the year 2026 fiscal year”, the Ministry stated.

It was stated that the document shared on social media outlines the planned projects, operational activities, and program interventions to be executed by the Ministry for the year under review.

The Ministry further stated that the fund has not been released to them as the document waits for commitment approval from the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry added that the fund in the shared document is squandered as inaccurate and misleading as they call on the public to dismiss the claims going viral on social media.

The Ministry expresses its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to the rules and regulations governing the country.
