A driver has lost his life following a fuel tanker explosion at Adubinsu in the Afigya Kwabre South District in the Ashanti Region after which the mate sustained severe burns.
According to reports, the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, June, 4, 2026 after which the driver lost control due to a brake failure.
The tanker then somersaulted causing the explosion that destroyed many shops, and houses near the scene.

According to the eyewitness, the tanker was traveling from Edwenase towards Adubinsu where the tragedy occurred.
The mate after the explosion sustained severe burns and was transported to Tafo government but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
The driver identified as Abass Toure, a resident of Adubinsu Municipality was pronounced dead at inferno.
The Ghana Fire Service personnel were deployed at the scene to bring the incident under control.
