Ghana Holds Talks With South Africa Amid Viral Xenophobic Attacks

The Foreign Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa has held a phone talk with South Africa over the viral Xenophobic attacks on Ghanaian Nationals.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the Foreign Minister Okudzeto Ablakwa, released a statement via facebook page.

According to it he narrated that he had a phone call with his counterpart, South African High Commissioner, Ronald Lamola on the Xenophobic attack on Ghanaians and other Africans in a viral video.

The Ministry expressed sympathy to the affected individuals and assured them that there would be a full-scale investigation.

The South African government would hold a press briefing to discuss the viral xenophobic attacks on Ghanaian Nationals and other Africans on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026.

Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa assures full protection of the Ghanaians living in all parts of Africa.

“No life was lost in the attack”, he added.

He then urges all African countries to stay united and at peace as he condemns the attacks on the Ghanaians, calling for pan-African unity.
