NSA reduces Payroll of GHS 1.6bn to GHS 700million

The National Service Authority (NSA) has stated that in its reform policy in the authority has cut down the payroll of GHS 1.6bn to GHS 700million.

According to Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu, the new reform under the authority is to remove all ghost names from the NSA payroll which costs the country GHS1.5bn to GHS1.6bn to GHS700million this year.

Lt. Col Kpeungu speaking on JoyNews says the aim of the new system reform was not to reduce the number of National Service Personnel across the country but to tighten the process leading to the profit obtained.

The new system is aimed at being technology-driven which tracks the personnel’s efficiency which involves evaluation done by each personnel in every month and endorsed by the supervisor at the post he holds.

It has multiple layers of checking the efficiency of personnel as it is fully digitised he added.

According to him, the new system reform has not only cut down expenditure but has also enhanced the efficiency of the process as every personnel is properly monitored while working.
