Wassa Akropong has been hit by an unfortunate incident after an 18-year-old man known popularly as ‘2 Cedis’ was apprehended by the police for allegedly beheading his grandmother in the Amenfi East Municipality in the Western Region.
According to the report, the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, May, 27, 2026 at the victim’s house after a small misunderstanding leading to the unfortunate incident.
The report says the young man attacked and beheaded the victim for a reason yet to be revealed by the police.

The community members after hearing the incident rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect after seeing a sharp object assumed to be a cutlass with blood on it.
They beat him up until the police at Wassa Akropong intervened and took him to the police station.
The body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue while the suspect is in police custody assisting in the investigation.
