Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah Appointed as Chair of NPP Policy Committee
The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi and former Information Minister, Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah, was named as Chair of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the party’s reorganization following the results of the 2024 general election.
The announcement of Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah’s appointment was issued by the party’s secretary, Justin Koduah after a meeting of the National Executive Committee and the National Council held on Thursday, May,7,2026.

Honourable Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah is known for his outspokenness in the media space and political arena where his work as a radio host and current affairs gain national attention for his presentation style.
His swift entry into the field of politics from journalism is seen as one of the most remarkable shifts in Ghana’s politics.
Many party members see Hon. Kwadwo Nkrumah’s appointment as a significant step in growing the party’s reputation at this time, when the party is in opposition, due to his skill and presentation during his appointment as the Minister of Information.
The appointment follows the party’s reorganization of solving problems within the party starting from the grassroots to the highest body.
The recently formed committee is expected to reinforce the party’s internal administration structures, sharpen policy direction, and coordinate strategic political arrangements ahead of future general elections.
