The Cocoa sector needs a fair, and transparent pricing structure that reflects a true sustainable production – COCOBOD CEO
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cocobod Ghana, Dr. Randy Abbey has called on all relevant stakeholders and international partners in the cocoa sector to ensure a fair and transparent pricing structure reflects true production in the country and the whole of Africa.
Dr. Randy Abbey, speaking on the launch of the 2027 World Cocoa Foundation, stated that the Ministry of Finance and its stakeholders are working around the clock to ensure the financial viability of the cocoa price in the country for the long term.

He further stated that the sustainability of o the cocoa price solely depends on the price of the cocoa in which it is produced.
Dr. Randy Abbey mentioned that the meeting is significant as chocolate manufacturers, International partners, and buyers of cocoa produce are to make an effort to ensure the price of cocoa benefits all.
“The cocoa sector needs a fair, and transparent pricing structure that reflects a true sustainable production” he said.
He lamented that most cocoa production is affected by numerous challenges such as disease and climate change pressure, farmers’ income concerns, and other issues affecting the yield of the cocoa beans produced.
He stated the foundation is set to address such challenges hindering the cocoa industry production.
