The Ghana Police Service has arrested five individuals in Suhum, Eastern Region, for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping operation. The swift police action also led to the safe rescue of two victims.
The suspects—identified as Suleman Salifu (24), Godfred Owusu (26), Antwi Bismark (27), Anas Salis (38), and Gyamfi Isaac (33)—were apprehended during a sting operation conducted by law enforcement authorities.
During the operation, police retrieved a number of items from the suspects, including a foreign pistol, forged currency notes, GHC4,600 in cash, a cutlass, several talismans, five mobile phones, and an unregistered Acura 4×4 vehicle believed to have been used in the criminal act.

The victims, Seidu Sambiane (28) and Ibrahim Alhassan (42), were found unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.
According to police reports, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of GHC400,000 from the victims’ families prior to their arrest.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be processed for court to face charges related to kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, and other offences.
