Government Marks to absorb 70 Percent of 5G Population Coverage
Honourable Sam Nartey George, Minister for Communication Digital Technology, and Innovation has announced that the government is targeting to absorb seventy percent of the 5G population of the internet by March, 6, 2027.
Honourable speaking at the 15th anniversary of Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications in Accra says the initiative forms part of the government’s efforts in accelerating 5G population coverage in the country.
According to him, the use of 5G is to improve internet connectivity, create innovation, assist businesses, improve healthcare, and other enterprises in the country.

“We are confident to confirm that by Independence Day in 2027, at least 70 per cent of Ghana’s population will have access to 5G services,” he said.
He further stated that the government considers the role of 5G in the generation as a priority in economic development and nation-building.
Mr. Sam George stated that the government is collaborating with industry players in ensuring that 5G connectivity is closed for its rollout.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Sylvia Ankomah commended the Ministry for its commitment to enhancing easy access to the internet.
She added that the enrollment of 5G will unlock opportunities for innovation, economic investment, and investment due to the speed up in access connectivity within the community.
She stated that the telecommunication in the country remains committed to the government’s aim of promoting the economy through the rollout of 5G connectivity.
